HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hello, 2010. Nice to have you here. 2009 treated me so-so. Lots of up and a fair share of downs. I hope you, 2010, will treat me superbly this year. Let’s stay friends throughout, okay? That’s all I wish for…

Last night was a lot of fun. A little tame compared to the previous 19 New Year’s Eve festivities that I recall, but a NYE nonetheless. We ate a lot, drank a lot, and rocked out a lot. But come 12:30 a.m., we were ready to call it a night.

But today is the dawn of a new day and a new year and a new decade. Many consider the first day of the year as a chance to start a fresh and begin one’s life on a new slate. I can’t say I’ll go as deep as that, but I have given myself new challenges and I hope I can achieve a lot of what I have set out to achieve this year. And it goes beyond my 43 Things list. There’s more to me than a silly lil’ list ;) (believe it or not…)

And speaking of 43 Things, #43 on the list is “Start and finish a Project 365″. Well, ladies and gents, I can proudly proclaim that I have officially started it (it’ll be the continuing and finishing, that’s going to be the hard part) and here are some of the ones I took this morning:

Yes, last night’s theme was all about eating and drinking (& tackling the 84 Song Set List on Rock Band 2). I will make no excuses – we over indulged on the very last day of the year. And that’s how we roll.

But here’s to a fantastic 2010. Here’s hoping it’ll be the best year ever, filled with joy, laughter and everything life has to offer. You know, all the cheesy stuff ;)

here’s to another year beginning…

31 Dec

I finally finished putting together my 2010 43 Things List.

It was harder than I thought to finalize it. I started it on Sunday afternoon, got as far as about 15 “things” and then had a complete blank. It was a struggle. Then during the week, I would add one or two things on to the list. And last night, I finally finished the list by coming up with the LAST TWO things to wrap this baby up. And viola! Here ’tis, my mighty list.

And you’ll notice that my list consists of things that I feel I can achieve in the Year 2010. You won’t see things like “fly out of a plane”, “go bungee jumping”, “go to europe”, “end world hunger” or “join peta”. I’m not out to save the world or have ever claimed that I am the perfect humanitarian. And I wasn’t going to add “recycle” because I already do that. No need to reaffirm things I already practice. That’d be a waste of a list space, pardon the pun.

So yes, my list is all about “small victories”. That’s how I see it. Because come on, it’s a 43 Things List. Let’s not take it too seriously ;)

P.S. Wish me luck. I may well need it!
